1 . Monetizing your videos from Creator Studio! When you upload a new video to your YouTube channel, you can monetize your video while you are editing it, just look for the monetization tab next to the "Basic Info" tab. You will have to apply to the YouTube partner program in order to be eligible for video monetization. You can apply for the Partner program in the Channel settings within Creator Studio. There are some considerations as to whether or not you should monetize your videos as it could annoy your viewers. You will need to find the balance here, what works for your viewers and your channel. Having said that, ads are becoming increasingly common on YouTube, and the ability to skip these ads makes this, at least in my opinion, a fairly manageable annoyance. My advice is, if you are planning to turn this feature on in order to make money on YouTube, is do it from the start so your audience is used to it, rather than waiting till you are famous and risk turning them off later. How much can you expect? It varies greatly but, somewhere around $1 per thousand views... ish! You won't be able to retire on this method unless you focus FIRST on the most important component to success on YouTube - building an engaged audience.

an Funding! Another option built right into Creator Studio on YouTube to make money is "Fan Funding." This option is also turned on from the channel settings but, you must also become a YouTube partner is order for this option to be available to you. This allows your loyal fans, who appreciate all the awesome content you make for them, to support you with a contribution per video. If you focus on your MOST IMPORTANT task, when it comes to being successful on YouTube, building an engaged audience, you will be far more success with this technique. In your videos, you can make your audience know that this feature is variable to them and how much you would appreciate it if they would consider supporting you in your work by clicking this button on your Channel. It's fast, secure, and a great way to make money on YouTube.
3. Get Sponsors! Another very common technique to making money on YouTube is to find sponsors who will give you money in exchange for promoting their brand/services/products in your video. How much you make can vary depending on the number of your subscribers, the average views your videos rack up over a month, and the sponsors themselves. Most sponsors will not even consider you until you have at least 1000 subs but, if you have built an engaged, loyal viewer base in a niche that is perfect for a certain brand, you may be able to sign a sponsor who is a perfect fit for your audience. There are few websites like FameBit.com that can help connect you to the sponsors who are willing to pay money to video creators. As I said before though, you will need at least 1000 subs before sites like Famebit will let you sign up for their service. Don't forget, you can always approach brands directly. Before you do... be sure to pay close attention the the three most important steps to proper marketing first.
4. Offer Product! Having an offering of products is another great way to make money on YouTube. You can find affiliate products from various online outlets such as Amazon or ClickBank or, you can offer your own products. If you offer products that play well with the niche audience you have been building on your channel you will do well. So ask yourself the question, what products does my viewer want? Then, how can I offer those products? The better you do at knowing your core audience, then optimizing your video, and your channel, for that niche audience, the morse success you will have with this (and all) method. On YouTube, you can create a few "CTA's," or "Call to Actions" that will help alert your viewer to the opportunity and provide them a link that leads to the sales page, annotations and cards. There is a lot of flexibility in the annotations but, they are not visible on mobile devices and YouTube seems to be phasing them out. Cards are newer and visible on all platforms. YouTube is also expanding the cards feature to include a bigger variety to the creator. You can also give your own CTA in post production with the inclusion of text on your video. A sub category under products might be consulting.... you can provide your time as a product for sale as well.
5. Patreon Crowd Funding! A lot like Fan Funding right on YouTube, Patreon is another great way to make money on YouTube. Essentially, they are very similar however, with Patreon success is driven by what you are offering, in addition to your videos, to your contributors. Essentially, these super fans are funding your video production... the more you give them, the more they will give. You will need to come up with incentives that drive contributors, like exclusive content or inside access, one of a kins swag, etc. etc.. I know this sounds like a broken record but, unless you focus on your PRIMARY goal of building an engaged viewership within your niche, this method will no be successful for you. It's like the saying goes, "if you build it,they will come." The "it" is a great YouTube channel and the "they" are the paying loyal fans.
Those are my top 5 tips for making money and becoming famous on YouTube. There are other techniques too, such as YouTube creator networks but, NONE of it will matter if you do not first pour your energy into building a viable brand on YouTube with an engage audience.
